How to make a Blackberry data subscription work on any device

In this post, i will show you guys how to modify your device and make a Blackberry subscription work on it.

Your ISP has different packages of data bundle subscription in which you can use on your modem, Android, iOS, PC and the rest. I believe you might have noticed that your ISP has a separate data subscription for Blackberry users. Please don't be confuse because when i say Blackberry users, i'm referring to those Blackberry subscription that are meant for Blackberry phones running on pure Blackberry OS like the Bold series, Touch series etc and not the likes of Z10, Q10, Dtek Prive etc. Click here to read some free internet terms that would be helpful during the course of this post.

When looking at a Blackberry subscription and other subscriptions, you will notice a difference in the data allocated and the price. The Blackberry user wins in both the price and amount of data given.

You who is an Android, PC or iOS user might be paying $20 for 3gb of browsing data on your monthly sub while a blackberry user might be paying less and be getting unlimited internet access. That's the difference between the two. Others pay more money for less data while blackberry users pay less to get more. One major reasons while BB users pay less and get unlimited internet access (or more data) is because blackberry reduces the size of your packet data by compressing what ever information that you are browsing or downloading into fewer bits than the original data packet. Other OS don't do these.

An Android user might go online and download a movie of 1.2gb but might end up using over 1.3gb+ while a PC user might end up even more. But a Blackberry user might who wants to download that same movie, same quality, from the same site would end up using far less amount of data.

Note: Most ISP's these days don't offer unlimited internet access to BB devices but allocate data which is either big or cheaper than other those on other OS platform. Know that a blackberry subscription doesn't work on other OS platforms but that of Blackberry alone.

To enjoy the benefits that Blackberry users get, you will have to tweak your device and make your ISP think that you are a Blackberry user. I will discuss some simple methods that you can use in making a Blackberry subscription work on a non-Blackberry device.

Note: Know that the methods below are to be used individually. When method 1 doesn't work, you will have to try the next method. When you want to try out these methods, subscribe for the daily BB sub and use it to test what ever you want. FYI, all these methods are working, i have tried them all on different ISP's in different countries and they all work.

Methods to make a Blackberry subscription work on a non-Blackberry device:

1. APN change
2. Tunneler configuration
3. IMEI change
4. IMEI + APN change
5. APN change + Tunneler configuration
6. IMEI + APN change + Tunneler configuration

1. APN change:

Changing your APN is the first thing that you do when you want any Blackberry subscription to work on a non-Blackberry device. First you subscribe to a Blackberry package and then change the APN of your Access Point and then then connect to the internet and start enjoying the subscription. Examples of APN that you can use are; Blackberry.net, Blackberryx.net. Blackberry.com etc. You might have to reboot your phone for the effect to take place.

2. Tunneler configuration:
You can configure your tunneler to make a Blackberry subscription work on your non-Blackberry device. This is quite quite simple though, all that you need is the Blackberry servers to make it work!

3. IMEI change:

This method involves you to tweak the IMEI of your MTK device to that of a Blackberry device. When you are done, reboot your device and then connect to the internet and browse using the Blackberry subscription. You can click here to read everything i wrote about IMEI tweaking.

4. IMEI + APN change:

This part involves you tweaking the IMEI of your device to that of a Blackberry device and also changing the APN of your device at the same time for it to work.

5. APN change + Tunneler configuration:
In this section, you change the APN of your access point and then combine it with a configuration from any of your tunneler consisting of Blackberry server and then connect.

6. IMEI + APN change + Tunneler configuration:
This self explanatory. You combine all three together to make it work.

NEW SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8 EMPEROR

If a recent rumor out of Weibo is to be believed, Samsung will launch a special edition of the Galaxy Note 8 in its home market. Dubbed the Galaxy Note 8 Emperor Edition, the phone will feature 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Samsung is set to launch the special edition alongside the standard model, which is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
The leakster also mentions that the Emperor Edition will be debuting in China following its availability in South Korea. The variant is unlikely to be sold outside of Asian markets, but as SamMobile notes, Samsung may launch a Galaxy Note 8 model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage in North America, Europe, and South America with a price tag in the vicinity of $1,100.
Other rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 8 include dual 12MP cameras at the back, a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, Snapdragon 835 chipset, and a 3300mAh battery. The device is expected to be offered in three color options at launch — Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, and a new Deep Blue variant.
The phone is slated for an official unveil on August 23, so we should know more in the coming weeks.

SAFARICOM FINANCIAL BOSS EXITS

FINISH LINE

Safaricom’s head of financial services Ronald Webb has exited the firm barely a year after he was appointed.
In a memo to staff, Safaricom chief executive officer Bob Collymore indicated that Mr. Webb’s final day would be July 25 as he headed back to the United Kingdom for family reasons.
“Tomorrow, Tuesday 25th July 2017, will be Ron’s last day with Safaricom as he moves back to the UK for family reasons. I wish him all the best as he returns following 18 productive years in Kenya,” Mr. Collymore said in the memo.

Mr Webb was head hunted by Safaricom in August 2016 from Equity Bank to drive the telecom’s bid to make the mobile money transfer service M-Pesa more robust. His exit comes at a time Safaricom has completed upgrading its M-Pesa system to add new services to its menu.
Mr. Webb is credit with having introduced M-PESA Kadogo, launched the pilot of M-PESA OneTap as well as creating a simplified user environment aimed at helping small businesses plug into M-PESA.
Safaricom has invested heavily in building the new M-Pesa infrastructure that has resulted in a higher processing capacity, enabling clients to access more series as well as complete bank payments in real time.
Before joining Equity Bank Mr. Webb was the co-founder of the Paynet and PesaPoint payment systems.

M-Pesa has become a crucial revenue generator for Safaricom which raked in Sh55 billion in the last financial year. Safaricom is in the process of expanding its M-Pesa services to other African countries

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” isn’t just a cultural phenomenon – it’s also a driving force for the company’s over-the-top service aimed at cord cutters, HBO NOW. According to new data from app store analytics firm App Annie, the HBO NOW streaming app was downloaded over 500,000 times in the first week following the Season 7 premiere. This translated into a massive increase in subscription revenue for the app, allowing it to snag the number three spot on the ‘Top Grossing’ chart across both iOS and Google Play.
On the day of the “Game of Thrones” premiere, Sunday July 16, 2017, the increase in revenue was so substantive that HBO NOW jumped up the top grossing chart by combined revenue by 11 ranks in the U.S., compared with the day prior.
While Netflix in the second quarter became the top grossing non-game app across both app stores, HBO NOW’s move this month was even more impressive. It didn’t just become the top grossing non-game app – it beat out all the other games on the revenue charts except for Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans.
That means it also became the #1 non-game app by combined iOS and Google Play revenue across the U.S. app stores on the day of premiere, App Annie notes.
The revenue increases were tied to a large jump in downloads from users who weren’t just opting for HBO NOW’s free trial, but signing up and subscribing immediately.
On the day of the premiere, HBO NOW saw 4 times the downloads compared with the average daily downloads of the 30 days prior. More remarkably, it was able to sustain this daily download bump for four days after the premiere. This led to over 500,000 downloads of the app across both the Apple App Store and Google Play in the U.S., and a 3x increase in revenue on the day of the premiere.
The interest in “Game of Thrones” isn’t just limited to the U.S. While HBO NOW’s streaming app is U.S.-only, the HBO GO app is available in several regions outside the U.S. And it, too, saw downloads increase by significant numbers.
Daily downloads for HBO GO peaked on July 16, 2017 and July 18, 2017, at well over 3x the number of downloads compared with the average daily downloads of HBO GO in the 30 days prior, in both the U.S. and globally.
While a jump in downloads and revenue are to be expected for a show as popular as “Game of Thrones” – especially considering the premiere broke HBO’s streaming records – they also indicate a different sort of billing cycle when it comes to cord cutters. Clearly, there’s a large audience who subscribe to HBO mainly “Game of Thrones,” then cancel that subscription when the season ends.
That means HBO will need to figure out its longer term content strategy in order to reduce subscriber churn and keep the series’ fans from leaving HBO when their favorite show one day finally concludes.
HBO has to some extent addressed its plans on this front, saying it understands how it’s important to have a wide range of offerings for streaming service users – not just top performers like “Game of Thrones,” but also other content, like big-ticket dramas, documentaries, and sports programs, for example.
“Usage is going across a wide range of categories — it’s not just ‘Westworld’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Night Of’,” HBO CEO Richard Plepler said in February, in a report by Variety. “We’re in the business of curating great content. We’re very encouraged by what we’ve seen in churn,” he added.
The company, at that time, also said the HBO NOW streaming service had surpassed 2 million subscribers in the U.S., an increase from 800,000 by the end of 2016. However, HBO NOW is no longer the only way for cord cutters to (legally) watch HBO. The network is also available as an add-on subscription across a number of internet TV services, like HBO, Sling TV, DirecTV Now, and as a standalone subscription via Amazon Channels.
According to a report this month from Financial Times (via Decider), this expanded access translates into nearly 3.5 million digital subscribers who don’t pay for HBO through a traditional pay TV provider, like cable or satellite.
That’s only an okay number for this still relatively new streaming service – though it’s worth pointing out that Netflix added more subscribers in the past quarter alone than all of HBO’s digital subscriber base. And that 3.5 million figure is just about 3 percent of HBO’s 131 million worldwide subscribers, 34 million of which are in the U.S, noted Decider.
As more consumers cut the cord, there’s a big chance that a number of them will be lost to HBO entirely – especially when its $15/month over-the-top pricing is so much higher than its streaming competitors. And if HBO doesn’t find its next “Game of Thrones,” it may struggle to bring its former subscribers back after they ditch pay TV.
